Adopt a Special Pet and Provide a Fur-ever Home!

The Source wants to help reduce the overpopulation of unwanted pets in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Every week, we will feature a dog or cat from the hardworking rescue organizations and hope someone will find their fur-ever friend on this site.

All animals have been vaccinated and neutered and are healthy.

Stitch is a one-year-old domestic shorthair cat. He lives on St. Croix currently but doesn’t get along with his kitty sibling and the best solution is to find him his fur-ever home as quickly as possible. Stitch is sweet and playful and likes to cuddle, but Stitch just doesn’t like the other cat. The feeling is mutual, apparently. To get acquainted, email info@realcruzancats.org and check out the RCC website.

Look at this handsome guy! He was skin and bones when he was found, but with love and care, he has grown into an attractive nine-month-old bundle of joy. He is full of energy, always ready to play and is crate trained. Boo likes to cuddle and loves all dogs – he seems to ignore cats. This pup would be best in a home with other energetic dogs or children, but he’ll be a happy companion for his fur-ever family.

Hi there! My name is Frisbee and I promise I’m the goodest boy. But lately, I’ve been feeling like an invisible dog. People walk past me to adopt puppies or other pets. I’ve been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since August. I just want a warm lap to rest my head on. I just want a gentle hand to scratch my ears. I want someone to wag my tail for. I might be a little shy at first but warm up quickly.

Two-year-old Lyle is waiting for his fur-ever family to find him. He is very friendly and likes kids, cats and other dogs. He likes to run and loves to play ball. Lyle has never been aggressive and everyone feels safe around him. The cherry on the top of this sundae is that adoption fees are waived for cat and dog adoptions. To meet Lyle and HSST’s other pets looking for permanent homes, visit the facility at 4012 New Herrnhut, call 340-775-0299, or email info@hsstt.com.

Ho, ho, ho! Make your family remember this holiday forever by giving a sweet dog or cat a loving home. You’ll be a hero! There are so many pets who need and deserve a good life.
