Akeem Jones died on Dec. 6.

He is survived by his mother, Gail Jones Frett; father, Milton “Yellow” Frett; grandparents: (deceased) Edris Browne, Louis Frett, Wilbert Jones and Althea Gifft; and uncles: Claude and Charles Zakers, Steven and Keith Gifft, Verne Scatliffe, Elton Thomas, Melvin, Elvin, Eric and Derrick Browne, Livingston Jones, Claudius, Joel, Dale and Kelly Frett.

He is also survived by aunts: Patty Zakers, Yvette Gifft Bradley, Jackie Gifft, Eysana Jones, Judith Frett Fahie, Jennaire Frett Rabsatt, Kishma Frett, Jewel Haines, Denise Thomas Shirley and Judith Scatliffe Dalmida; special nannies: Ethlyn Byers and Gwendolyn Rhymer; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The first viewing will be held from, 4-6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home. The second viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 5. at Wesley Methodist Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.
