Fly the Whale From St. Croix to Puerto Rico

New daily scheduled flights are being added between St. Croix’s Henry A. Rohlsen Airport and Puerto Rico’s San Juan Isla Grande Airport, beginning March 15, Fly the Whale Airline announced.

The launch of up to three round-trip flights per day between the USVI and Puerto Rico delivers essential access to business travelers and medical and leisure tourism, according to the press release.

“This new destination is the result of our savvy customers who were looking for a convenient and reliable service to their neighbor island, and Isla Grande achieves that,” shares David Ziemer, Fly the Whale’s chief operating officer.

Isla Grande Airport is also only minutes away from Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport for those travelers connecting to flights to the mainland or international destinations. Since Fly the Whale introduced service between St. Croix and St. Thomas in April 2023, it has flown over ten thousand highly satisfied guests with nine round-trip flights per day. The addition of St. Croix to San Juan will mark the extension of Fly the Whale’s easy and stress-free flying to Puerto Rico, the press release stated.

Fly the Whale’s President, Omer ErSelcuk, said, “This is a great opportunity for our valued guests to take the easy way to San Juan. Our new flights skip the big airport hassles and make getting to and from San Juan a breeze for both frequent business travelers, residents traveling for medical care, and those simply seeking a getaway to the beautiful islands of Puerto Rico and St. Croix.”

Fly The Whale is proud to partner with Vieques Air Link to handle reservations and sales at Isla Grande Airport. Vieques Air Link is the longest-standing air carrier in the region, operating since 1965, offering exceptional reliability and value with over 50 flights per day connecting San Juan Isla Grande and Ceiba on the “Big Island” of Puerto Rico and Vieques and Culebra as well as bespoke charters to the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, the release stated.

Fly the Whale is dedicated to providing the residents of the USVI and now Puerto Rico with an exceptional customer experience built on safety, reliability, friendly service, and great comfort each and every time. With its full-time scheduled airline team based in the USVI, Fly the Whale is doing its part to boost economic growth by re-establishing the ease and joy of travel, it said.
