Gilbert Smith

Father, brother and grandfather, Gilbert “Tamba” Smith has died. He was born on Oct. 16, 1963, and died on March 16, 2024. His loss leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled.

He is survived by his wife, Belinda Smith; daughters:  Adiya, Anyah, Amanda and Amina Smith; stepdaughters: Sherise and Shanique Rogers; sons: Adanie and Amon-Re Smith; stepson, Akeem Rogers; grandchildren: Ariya, Zy’air, Amiya, Jiraiya, Ja’Qeada (deceased), Royalty, Sydney, Wykazi, Adela Rose, Avondre and Zyhari; sisters: Alphonse Lauretta Lettsome and Evelyn Valarie James; brothers: Abraham Manassah James, Leroy Thibou and Geraldo Smith.

The first viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.

The second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral services celebrating his life at 10 a.m., Friday, April 12, at Blyden Memorial Chapel.  Interment will be in Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay
