A St. Thomas woman was arrested after police said she assaulted a resident and attempted to enter a home in Annas Retreat, St. Thomas during a reported burglary and fight in progress.
According to the V.I. Police Department, officers were dispatched Friday, May 22, to a residence in Annas Retreat following reports of a burglary and disturbance.
Police said K’enisha George was identified during the investigation as the person who assaulted the victim and attempted to gain access to the residence. The victim suffered minor injuries while trying to restrain George, according to the news release.
George, 24, was arrested Saturday, May 23, at the Domestic Violence & Special Victims Unit after being advised of her rights, police said.
She was charged with burglary in the third degree-domestic violence, destruction of property-domestic violence, simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence.
Police said George was booked, processed and turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice of rights hearing.
