Sept. 17, 2004 Residents of the Paul M. Pearson Gardens will have a change in their weekend plans due to the effects of Tropical Storm Jeanne this week.
The residents were set to kick off a week-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the housing community beginning Sunday, Harolyn Hansen, president of the Paul M. Pearson 50th Anniversary Committee, said Friday morning. However, the activities have been postponed due to the effects of the storm.
According to a release issued from the committee Friday, the activities have been rescheduled for Oct. 3-9.
Some of the activities planned for the event include a career achievement night, a cultural night, a spiritual and gospel night and a block party and talent show.
All activities will be held at the Paul M. Pearson Garden Housing Community, with the exception of the church service on Oct. 3.
"The entire Virgin Islands community is invited to be a part of this historical event," Hansen said.
