FRIDAY GETS BACK TO NORMAL AT COLOR OF JOY

Sept. 6, 2001 – Is Friday evening the end of the week or the start of the weekend? Either way, it's a good time to sit back, sip some wine, enjoy some live music and celebrate another day in Paradise, as "the regulars" at the more-or-less weekly Color of Joy get-togethers can attest.
Last week there was a break in the weekly wine, cheese, art and music gatherings on the deck by the art gallery and shop at American Yacht Harbor. That's because the whole gang relocated downtown for the monthly Dada Wine Down event, where the works of Color of Joy fabric and jewelry artists were featured. This Friday, things get back to normal, with keyboard/vocals artist Sally Smith and friends entertaining on the broad Marlin Deck overlooking the AHY docks and Vessup Bay.
"It is a great way to start your weekend or wind down after a busy week," gallery/shop owner Corinne Van Rensselaer says. And, she notes, "there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, so if you want to bring your own food and drinks, feel free to come and enjoy it on the deck listening to the music … And if you sing or play an instrument, don't feel shy about joining in!"
For those in the mood for more music afterward, Van Rensselaer adds, Lightnin' Phil and his group play steps away at Molly Molones on Fridays from 8 to 11 p.m. And for those heading home to St. John, the ferry dock is right next door.
