Yacht Haven Grande St. Thomas welcomes 2008 in ‘old school’ style with its Disco Funk New Year’s Eve Party. It has announced a complete line-up of celebrations to ring in the New Year. The festivities will begin at 9 p.m. and go until 3 a.m. The schedule for the party includes: the Inner Visions band on the lawn in front of W!kked from 9:30-11:30 p.m.; DJ Peter C on the Main Stage at 10 p.m., who will spin a mix of dance favorites; and, at midnight, Yacht Haven Grande will welcome 2008 with the disco strobe ball drop, a fireworks spectacular and disco "Auld Lang Syne." Washington D.C.’s Super Fly Disco Band will then take the stage for serious "grooving and getting down" until 3 a.m.
The $25 cover/wristband charge entitles guests to a free glass of Eclipse Sparkling Brut, entertainment after 10 p.m. and party favors. In addition, multiple bar stations will be conveniently positioned along the Yacht Haven Grande Esplanade. Festive and retro attire is encouraged.
Those interested in the deluxe packages have dining choices at Yacht Haven Grande’s restaurants: Grande Cru, W!kked and Fat Turtle. Grand Cru is offering two seatings with a special prix fixe menu. It will include specials on Veuve Clicquot by the glass or Veuve Clicquot Rose Reserve, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, Krug Grande Cuvee and Dom Perignon by the bottle. For dusk to dawn revelers, Fat Turtle will offer a breakfast buffet from 1-3:30 a.m., as well as their regular all-night menu.
For yachters wishing to join in the celebration, dock space at Yacht Haven Grande’s marina is also available and includes complimentary wristbands. For a slip, call 774-9500. Reservations are highly suggested, as space is limited, or plan to drop anchor and dinghy into the marina.
