A man was killed Saturday evening in a shooting in St. Croix’s Golden Rock area.
The V.I. Police Department did not identify the victim in its news report issued Monday, saying the name was being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
According to the Source homicide* listing, it was the 17th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 28th in the territory.
According to the VIPD, at 11:40 p.m. Saturday 911 received several calls of shots being fired in the Golden Rock area. Officers responding to the scene discovered an unresponsive Caucasian male on the sidewalk. The man had been shot multiple times about the body and succumbed to his injuries.
