Traveler Charged with Possession at STT Airport

Aubrey Meyers, a St. Thomas man passing through the Cyril E. King Airport on his way to Florida, was forced to take a detour Sunday – through the St. Thomas District Court, where he was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, according to U.S. Attorney Gretchen Shappert.

According to court documents filed in the case, on Sunday, Meyers was attempting to travel from St. Thomas to Orlando, Florida. He was questioned by Customs and Borders Protection officials and a search of his luggage revealed five clear plastic bags containing cocaine.

The case is being investigated by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement – Homeland Security Investigations. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nathan Brooks and Adam Sleeper.
