The V.I. Police Department on Friday arrested Rhasanie Hendrickson, age 18 of Mount Pleasant West, charging him with aggravated assault and battery/domestic violence.
According to police, Hendrickson allegedly assaulted his pregnant significant other, causing visible injuries.
The victim was transported by police to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment.
Hendrickson was arrested at 11:32 a.m. Nov. 6. He was not offered bail, pursuant to the territory’s domestic violence statutes, and he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
St. Croix District Chief of Police Sidney Elskoe reminds the community that there is no excuse for domestic violence.
“During disagreements, tempers may flare. However, resorting to violence against your significant other will get you arrested,” Elskoe said. He suggests taking a “time out” from the situation, allowing tempers to cool.
