
The territory welcomed its first baby of 2025 at precisely midnight on New Year’s Day. Dorgelis Audreina Mujica Cambero and Audu Jose Pereza Exteves are the parents of Aitana Cattleya Pereza Mujica, who was born at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces, the center announced.
The hospital staff and community joined the family in marking the occasion. Gifts and donations were presented by JFL, Sonya’s, and Premier Baby Store to recognize the event. These gestures reflect the hospital’s commitment to supporting families within the community, according to a press release.

“Moments like these remind us of the importance of family, community, and our role in ensuring the best possible start in life for the youngest members of our community,” the release stated.
JFL extended its congratulations to the family, expressing pride in welcoming the first baby of the year. As the new year begins, the hospital reiterated its commitment to providing quality healthcare for families across the U.S. Virgin Islands, it said.
The birth of Baby Aitana marks a significant moment for the hospital and the broader community as 2025 begins, it said.
