A 65-year-old man was arrested May 9 after allegedly threatening another individual with a firearm during a fight that began at Moe’s Service Station and escalated in the La Reine Pueblo parking lot, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.
At approximately 9:17 a.m. patrol officers responded to a 911 call reporting a verbal altercation that had turned physical between two men. Upon arrival, officers observed an active fight and immediately separated the individuals, according to the police report.
A legally owned firearm, which police said was used to threaten the victim during the confrontation, was recovered and turned over as evidence, the police report stated.
The suspect, identified as Clemence King, was arrested and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station, where he was processed and charged with third-degree assault. His bail was set at $25,000, but he was allowed to post $1,000 and was subsequently released on his own recognizance, the report stated.
