AARP HOLDS LEGISLATIVE CANDIDATES FORUM

One in a series of American Association of Retired Persons Issues Forums will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at Antilles School Marin Center. The forums will have a moderator and a panel of four AARP volunteers will question candidates for the Legislature on specific issues. Audience members will then have an opportunity to submit written questions to the candidates.
The forums will start on time and the candidates will adhere to the time limits and topics. The forum will be televised by TV2.
Among issues the panel will raise: GERS unfounded liabilities, health care system improvements, Medicaid cap, long-term health care, Tobacco Settlement Funds, public transportation, homeowners insurance, environmental monitoring and protection.
The V.I. Toastmasters Club 4040U will assist in this forum.

ORALDO A. WILSON FUNERAL PENDING

Oraldo A. Wilson, age 89, or #89 Agnes Fancy, died on Oct. 9, at the Roy L. Schneider Hospital. Funeral Services are pending.
He is survived by daughters Erica Wilson-Maynard, Elred Wilson, Valencia and Vivian Wilson; stepson Dunstan James; stepdaughters Cheryl Browne, Maizil James and Joycelyn Jackson; sister Aureola Bramble; brother Joseph Wilson; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

JOHN FRETT FUNERAL WILL BE FRIDAY

John Frett, age 88, of Nadir #15A-2, died at Roy L. Schneider Hospital on Oct. 8. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, oct. 18, at New Herrnhut Moravian Church, New Herrnhut. Viewing will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Davis funeral Home Chapel. There will also be viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. at the New Herrnhut Moravian Church. Interment will be at Francis Cemetery, Smith Bay.
He is survived by his sons Dalton and Dennis Frett; daughters Gweneth and Janet Frett; adopted daughter Jennifer Flemming; sisters Anna George, Alice Gumbs, Rehenia Latortue, Nora Williams, Gertrude, Ida, Bernice, and Vera Fredericks; many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Antonio Foy, age 86, died Oct. 5, at Roy L. Schneider Hospital. His funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 14, at Christchurch Methodist in Market Square. First viewing will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Second viewing will precede the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at Christchurch Methosdist. Interment will be at Western Cemetery #3.
He is survived by his wife Mary Foy; sons Louis, Winston and Leon Foy; daughter Leila Foy; sisters Ina Monsanto, Rhoda Francis, Francena Rawlings, Eleanora Fahie, Margaret Fahie, Gwendolyn Douglas and Florencia Henley; brothers Darwin Fahie, Irvin Mercer and Alfrado Fahie; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

BOSCHULTE SCHOOL TO HOST ELECTION FORUM

Sept. 25, 2002 – All parents and interested public are invited to attend the first of two "2002 Meet the Candidates" forums at Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School auditorium.
Today's forum, for candidates for governor and delegate to Congress, is set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The second forum, for candidates campaigning for seats in the 25th Legislature, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
