UVI RTPark Hopes to Build Tech Village on Agricultural Land

Senators learned at Thursday’s Finance Committee hearing that the 30-acre Tech Village project being undertaken by the University of the Virgin Islands Research & Technology Park is slated to be built on agricultural land across from the St. Croix campus.

UVI Board Approves 2020 Budget and Fundraising Goals

At its meeting Saturday on St. Croix, the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees approved the university's fiscal year 2020 budget of $47.1 million. The board also set its annual fundraising goal at $3 million and the Alumni Giving rate at 20 percent.
Gov. Albert Bryan, the first elected governor to graduate from the University of the Virgin Islands, and attorney Bakari Sellers, keynote speaker for the UVI commencement.

Commencement exercises at the University of the Virgin Islands saw 195 students on the St. Thomas campus turn towards the future Friday. The grads were hailed for their determination, as a class that persisted through hard times.
