Company: Limetree Bay On Schedule to Start Refining

A portion of the former Hovensa refinery on St. Croix is on schedule to resume refining oil by year's end, according to Limetree Bay Ventures, parent company of Limetree Bay Terminals and Limetree Bay Refining.

On Friday, Limetree Bay Terminals recognized 20 young Virgin Islanders who completed Limetree’s 2019 summer internship program.

35 New Limetree Operators Slated to ‘Fuel the Future’

Seven years after Hovensa stopped refining oil on St. Croix, 35 new operators decided to be part of the effort to make the island a major player in the energy industry again. The group represents Limetree Bay Refining’s first graduating class from a six-week program on refinery basics.

Defying the Odds: Limetree Women Stand Out in STEM Field

Limetree Bay Refining celebrated 35 graduates – all Virgin Islanders – from its first Basic Operator Training Class. Nine were women. That’s about 26 percent, or a little more than a quarter, which almost mirrors the national statistics on women working in STEM fields.
