Volunteers Clean Up 800 Bags of Trash on St. Thomas

More than 60 people came out to help clean up St. Thomas on Feb. 6 and 7, thanks to some local companies' organization and sponsorship.

The V.I. Waste Management Authority along with the departments of Education and Tourism, has launched the “Keep the V.I. Clean” Youth Video Challenge for young Virgin Islanders to show pride in their islands, show off technical skills and get on TV.

Senators Grill WMA Director About Why Garbage Hangs Around

V.I. Senators presented Waste Management Authority acting Executive Director Adrian Taylor with photographs of garbage and sitting water, insisting that something be done about illegal dumping.

Op-Ed: 1,000 Cleanups Won’t Deter the Littering Population in the USVI

For three years, I’ve been amazed and inspired by the number of residents leading cleanups on St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John, and even the oft forgotten historic district of Hassel Island. I was extremely happy to see the Department of Tourism encouraging residents to assist in collecting trash throughout the territory.
