Port Authority Waives Late Rent, Fees

The V.I. Port Authority governing board met in an unannounced closed meeting on Tuesday, March 31, and voted to authorize Executive Director Carlton Dowe to temporarily waive late charges and other financial fees for its tenants.

Judge Tells Government Lawyer Court Can’t Stop Pension Penalties

A lawyer representing the V.I. government asked a federal judge to waive penalties and interest owed to GERS. During a Tuesday morning hearing in District Court, the judge said the law does not allow him to do so.

Fire at Anguilla Landfill For Sixth Time in Less Than 12 Months

An active fire at the Anguilla Landfill was reported Friday at 11:04 p.m., according to a release from the Waste Management Authority.

Pine Peace Homicide Victim Linked to 2007 Murder

Police on Wednesday identified the man found dead in a St. John recreational park as the man found guilty in a high-profile killing in 2007. A spokesperson for VIPD said the body found near the Pine Peace Basketball Court was Jahlil Ward, 32.
