UVI ENJOYING NEW MUSIC BUILDING

The University of the Virgin Islands now has a new Music Education Center, complete with good acoustics, several small practice and instruction rooms, a choir room and pianos.
The $850,000 building was built with federal funds channeled to UVI through the Education and Interior departments after Hurricane Hugo in 1989.
UVI received $9.7 in emergency federal funds after Hugo, including $7.2 million for a new sports and fitness center, $1.2 million to bury cables on campus and nearly $400,000 to upgrade its computer technology, according to a Daily News report.
The music building hasn't been named yet.
