3 STUDENTS STRUCK BY VAN ON THE WATERFRONT

Three students from Addelita Cancryn Junior High School were injured Thursday afternoon when they were struck by a passenger van whose driver had apparently lost control of his vehicle. The van went up onto the sidewalk near the seaplane terminal where the students were walking.
The students were transported to the Roy L. Schneider Hospital by a St. Thomas Rescue ambulance after they received treatment at the scene.
The extent of their injuries was not known, but the accident is under investigation by the V.I. Police Department, according to a release from St. Thomas Rescue.
The release speculated the van may have been struck by another van, causing it to lose control and run up on the sidewalk.
