KUNSCH SHOW OPENS AT FRAMES OF MIND SATURDAY

An exhibit of paintings by St. John artist Moe Kunsch will open with a reception Saturday, April 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Frames of Mind Gallery in the Lumberyard Complex in Cruz Bay.
A resident of St. John since 1979, Kunsch creates abstract works in various mediums, often indulging his penchant for enticing the observer with the "now you see it, now you don't" imagery for which he has become known. His Frames of Mind show will include acrylics and mixed media paintings.
"Moe continues to challenge his viewers with unusual images," a release from the gallery states. "His bold, colorful abstracts are something different for the island art scene."
Kunsch received his bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Tampa in Florida. His work was featured two years ago in an exhibition at the Island Made cooperative on St. John, and he is represented in the Caribbean Colour 2000 show which opened Friday evening at Port of Sale Mall on St. Thomas. He received the first place award in the painting category at the 1998 Caribbean Colour judging.
The public is invited to meet the artist and view his works at the opening reception. For more information, call 693-8560.
