The Lutheran Church of Reformation will be holding a fund-raising luncheon at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4 aboard the Monarch of the Seas. There will be a $40 donation per person that will go to help rebuild the Lutheran Church of the Reformation, which was destroyed in 1995 by Hurricane Marilyn.
The church is located in Anna's Retreat across from O'Henry Laundry. Rev. Laurence Baietti, who has been with the church five months, said services are currently being held under a tent in the courtyard between the office and classrooms of the church.
According to Baietti, the church needs $100,000 to continue building this year and $400,000 total to complete construction. $200,000 has already been spent on the outside construction. The church is currently contracting Roy Construction Inc. who is also doing the new Tunic Building.
For tickets or further information please call Alicia Boatwright at 775-7404 or the church office at 775-1022.
