National Vocational Technical Education Month, sponsored by the Vocational-Technical Education office, will be celebrated with many planned events at a vocational fair from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, March 19 through Saturday, March 24 at Tutu Park Mall.
At 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 students from all business programs will attend the opening program in the mall center court with music provided by Addelita Cancryn Jr. High School. Charlotte Amalie High School, Eudora Kean High School, Addelita Cancryn Jr. High, Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School, and Julius Sprauve School will be highlighted and the School-to-Work Program will present an information and reference material display.
Tuesday, March 21 is Family, Consumer Science, and Industrial Arts Day. Students from Addelita Cancryn, Julius Sprauve, and Bertha C. Boschulte Junior and Middle Schools will present displays focusing on the family and consumer science. Students from all school districts that provide classes in these subjects will attend.
Wednesday, March 21 is Trade and Industry Day. Ivanna Eudora Kean High School students will present computer repair and consumer science demonstrations. Students from the nursing and woodworking classes at Charlotte Amalie High School will provide displays, and students from the Raphael O. Wheatley Skill Center typing and computer classes will participate.
Trade and Industry Day #2 is Thursday, March 22. Students from the Charlotte Amalie High School auto body, auto mechanics, electronics, electricity, masonry, and arts and crafts classes will present displays and demonstrations. The Eudora Kean High School carpentry program will have examples of their work on exhibit.
Hotel Training, Cosmetology, and Family and Consumer Science Day is Friday, March 23. Students from these programs at Charlotte Amalie and Ivanna Eudora Kean High Schools provide displays and demonstrations. Students from the cosmetology and carpentry classes at the Raphael O. Wheatley Skill Center will demonstrate their skills.
The final day of the fair is Culinary and Fashion Day, Saturday, March 24. Students from the culinary arts and clothing construction classes from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School will provide demonstrations.
