MAKE A FREE T-SHIRT FOR DAD THIS SATURDAY

June 5, 2001 — Youngsters can play computeres and create art – an original Father's Day T-shirt for dad – this Saturday or next at several territory locations as part of the V. I. Justice Department's "Fathers Count 2001," a national program run in conjunction with the V.I. Resource Center for the Disabled.
All kids and dads are welcome to come and create the T-shirts, or decorate a cloth painter's cap. Computers will be available for the youngsters to create a design of their own or to make an iron-on transfer of a photo of dad, and there's sparkles and studs to put on the cloth caps.
Carolyn Smith, VIRC director, said the free program is open to all youngsters, but they must be accompanied by their fathers. She cautioned that space and supplies (including the T-shirts and caps) are limited, so reservations must be made at 777-2253.
On St. Croix the workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both Saturdays at Ricardo Richards Elementary School.
