Nov. 8, 2002 The 2002 amnesty program for employers to pay off delinquent unemployment insurance contributions ends Tuesday. Labor Commissioner Cecil R. Benjamin encourages all delinquent employers to take advantage of this opportunity to become compliant with the V.I. Unemployment Insurance Act.
The amnesty program provides employers the opportunity to pay off delinquent contributions with a payment plan for up to five years. The program also provides a waiving of outstanding interest and penalties.
All requests to take part in the amnesty program must be submitted by Tuesday.
