LEWIS, STRIDIRON SAY NEWS STORY WRONG

Clearly the Daily News was patting themselves on the back in a most self-serving manner by taking credit for the announced changes in the V.I. Police Department. It is also clear that Commissioned Lewis is correct that the announced changes were not developed in only a 10-day period. This was obvious to me when I read the Daily News article heartily congratulating themselves.
My question is: Why do the commissioner and the attorney general have to be so nasty in their response to the obvious? This approach, along with an abiding belief in deep secrecy, contributes to the mistrust and low respect for these offices. A simple and factual explanation would have been an effective and honorable response.
