News Brief: St. Thomas Logs First Homicide of 2005

Jan. 7, 2005 — Few details were available Friday morning on a fatal shooting Thursday night. The bullet-riddled body of a black male, believed to be in his early 20's, was found on a roadway leading to Mandahl Bay.
Residents of the area said they heard an initial two shots fired just before 9 p.m. Thursday. Then a volley of rapid gun fire was heard.
Law enforcement sources said more than a dozen spent ammunition casings were found at the scene.
No information on the victim was available from authorities Thursday night.
The shooting death is the first homicide in the territory in 2005.
