Just thought I would weigh in on the new plates for Virgin Islands vehicles. I am very glad that they are so much better looking than the old yellow ones. I am also pleased that our Ginger Thomas is used as the centerpiece. What bothers me, however, is the use of Pacific fish on the plates. We have many, many Caribbean fish that could have been used. I'm sure this is the result of the manufacturer using whatever clip art they had. It would have been nice to have fish that people here could see in our waters. Oh well. Just my thoughts as a marine biologist.
