June 15, 2006 – Yvonne Lawrence has been appointed assistant human resources director at the University of the Virgin Islands. Lawrence comes to UVI with more than 19 years of experience working in human resources management, most recently as an assistant vice president and manager with JP Morgan Chase Institutional Trust Division in New York City.
She has a master's degree in human resources management, a bachelor's degree in business administration and a human resources certificate from Cornell University. Lawrence will assist UVI's human resources director in executing the mandates of Vision 2012, which is UVI's strategic plan, according to a press release from UVI.
She will assist the director with developing sound employee relations programs, performance indicators and a new evaluation system for university personnel, as well as with the training, recruitment, compensation and employee relations functions of the UVI Human Resources department.
