Yacht Club Will Hold Commodore's Cup Race

June 15, 2006 – The Coral Bay Yacht Club, in conjunction with the Nauti Yacht Club and the St. John Yacht Club, has announced the dates for the 2006 St. John Commodore's Cup.
This year's three-day race kicks off with the Captain's Meeting and Welcome Party at 6:30 p.m., on June 30, at Skinny Legs in Coral Bay. Along with the race briefings and entry applications, it will be an opportunity to meet competing captains and crews, as well as enjoying great drink specials from the race sponsors, Miller Lite and Cruzan Rum. Other sponsors are Offshore Marine and Budget Marine.
June 30 – Captains Meeting/Welcome Party at Skinny Legs in Coral Bay.
July 1 – The race event begins at 8:30 a.m., with all class racing action.
July 2 – Second race day culminating in the awards ceremony and party at Skinny Legs in Coral Bay.
There is an entry fee of $45 per yacht. The winner of the Grand Prize Commodore's Cup will be determined by a Laser Race-Off. This year an Optimist Race for kids has been added. There will be a variety of Kids and the Sea (KATS) optimists available for rent for the race.
There will also be a raffle drawing for a 10'6" AB inflatable with a 15 hp Yamaha engine. The proceeds from this event benefit the Kids and the Sea (KATS) program of St. John.
