District Summer Reading Program Deadline Nears

Aug 15, 2006 – The deadline for the completion of Summer Reading Assignments is nearing. The 2006 Summer Reading Assignments disseminated at the close of the 2005-2006 school year will be due on Friday, Sept. 1, according to a press release from the St. Thomas-St. John School District Superintendent's office.
All students are required to submit their summer reading assignments and/or related projects on this date. Secondary students who will be taking English during the second semester are also due to submit their assignments/projects to the English Department and will be asked to sign indicating that they have indeed turned in the assignment.
An annual activity for the territory's schools, the Summer Reading Program encourages students to read during the summer months in preparation of the upcoming school term. The program directors are hoping to get feedback from students and parents about this pilot program that will help improve the series for next summer.
