UVI Book Buyback Scheduled
UVI's Bookstores have scheduled end-of-semester used book buyback periods. Cash register receipts are required. The schedules are as follows:
St. Thomas campus Bookstore – from Dec. 4 through 9
+ Dec. 4 through 8: 9 a.m to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
+ Dec. 9: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
St. Croix campus Bookstore – from Dec. 4 through 11
+ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
November Issue of 'UVI Voice' Student Newspaper Now Online
The November issue of the student newspaper "UVI Voice" is now available via the "Other UVI Sites" menu of the UVI web site – www.uvi.edu or at this direct link. Printed copies of the newspaper are available in campus libraries, CEA offices, student activities offices, residence halls and campus bookstores.
November Issue of 'Dateline: UVI' Now Available on UVI Web Site
The November issue of "Dateline: UVI," a monthly UVI newsletter, is now available online with access from the UVI home page – www.uvi.edu – or at this direct link. The issue features a story and photos from the St. Thomas/St. John Agriculture and Food Fair, a look at costumes planned for the UVI's entry in the upcoming Crucian Christmas festival, and a preview of the Virgin Islands Woodworkers Expo which is scheduled for Dec. 8 and 9 at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center.
UVI Libraries to Provide Extended Hours
In response to student requests, UVI's libraries on the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses will provide extended coverage over the next two weeks. For details, call 692-4130 on St. Croix or 693-1367 on St. Thomas. The extended schedule is as follows:
+ Monday, Nov. 27 – Thursday, Nov. 30
8 a.m. – midnight
+ Sunday, Dec. 3
1 p.m. – midnight
+ Monday, Dec. 4 – Thursday, Dec. 7
8 a.m. – midnight
The libraries will be open on the regular schedule on Fridays and Saturdays.
Nov. 30 Deadline Set for Submissions to St. Croix Agriculture Fair Bulletin
The Agriculture and Food Fair of the U.S. Virgin Islands will be held Feb.17-19, 2007 on St. Croix. The theme is "Make Things Happen-Revive Agriculture in 2007." Articles for the Agrifest Fair Bulletin are being sought. Preference will be given to instructional "how to" articles. Articles featuring Virgin Islands culture are also encouraged. The submission deadline for articles is Nov. 30, 2006. Submit articles to Clarice Clarke at cclarke@uvi.edu.
UVI Music Program's Christmas Concert Set Saturday, Dec. 2, at Reichhold Center
The University of the Virgin Islands Humanities and Social Sciences Division will present the Music Program's Annual Christmas Concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts. The Concert Band will perform under the direction of Professor Austin A. Venzen, the Concert Choir under the direction of Laura Reyes, and the Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Professor Martin J. Lamkin. Shenelle Warner will direct the Steel Pan Ensemble. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students. They may be purchased at the Reichhold Center Box Office, Dockside Bookstore in the Havensight Mall, the UVI Bookstore, and the Humanities Division office. Please come and celebrate the season with music and enjoy some old favorites as well as new exciting ones.
St. Croix Intramural Archery Champs
Klaryssa Simon and Kornel Baptiste are the St. Croix campus intramural archery champions for 2006. Simon led the women's field, with second place going to Ashante Branigan. Precious Laurent and Marie Jouavel tied for third. Baptiste earned the men's crown, edging Joel Sinnanan by just two points. Wayne Gonzales was third. In co-ed competition, Baptiste paired with Jouavel to take the win. The team of Sinnanan and Laurent took second, and Anna-Mai Christmas and Gonzales took third.
The next St. Croix campus archery event will be held during UVI Charter Day activities in March, 2007.

Financial Aid, Scholarship Students Reminded of Dec. 18 Payment Deadline
Returning UVI students who are receiving financial aid or scholarships are reminded that Dec. 18 is the deadline for them to visit the cashier's offices on the St. Thomas or St. Croix campuses to make payment (accept charges) for tuition and fees for the spring 2007 semester. The cashier's officers are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Failure to make payment by the deadline will result in the cancellation of classes.
Online Registration for Spring '07 Continues Through Dec. 18
Online registration for continuing UVI students enrolling in spring semester 2007 classes is available through Dec. 18, 2006. The deadline for students to pay all tuition and fees for the spring semester is also Dec. 18. Class schedules and detailed registration information are available on the UVI web site – www.uvi.edu. Online registration is available via the University's http://banweb.uvi.edu web site.
