Dec. 8, 2006 — "Wheel of Fortune," syndicated televisions longest-running series and Americas number-one ranked show, will feature "ST. THOMAS UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS" on the letter board this month, the Department of Tourism said.
The show will air nationally and internationally on ABC on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 7:30 p.m. EST. ABC airs locally on Innovative Cable Channel 8. (Check local listing for show times.)
"We are delighted that St. Thomas will be featured on 'Wheel of Fortune,'" said Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards. "This opportunity speaks to the incredible popularity and familiarity of Americas Caribbean, and we are proud to have been chosen for a special role on Americas favorite game show."
"Wheel of Fortune," which has ranked as television's No. 1 syndicated series for 89 consecutive sweeps ratings periods, marked the beginning of its 24th season on Sept. 11, 2006, according to a Department of Tourism news release. With more than 19 million viewers daily, syndication's most successful series continues to attract a larger audience than most prime-time TV shows, airing in 211 markets nationwide.
