Deadline for Physician Scientist Training Applications Extended

Dec. 18, 2006 All territorial 7th Grade students who have a passion for science an A average and also do well on standardized tests are eligible to apply for the Temple University's Physicians Scientist Training Program during the summer of 2007. The application deadline has been extended to Saturday, Jan. 20, according to a press release from the Department of Education.
The program was created in 1985 to increase the number of minority students who are seeking biomedical and medical research careers. It has evolved into the largest and most diverse biomedical research training for students from the 7th grade through medical and graduate schools.
A team of interviewers from the Distance Learning Center, which is housed at Temple U., will conduct interviews with students in February before the final selection of participants.
