Brief: Water-Leak-Detection Surveys Set for St. Thomas this Weekend

July 13, 2007 — Water-distribution technicians will perform leak-detection surveys from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the the V.I. Water and Power Authority.
The survey areas include Polyberg, Beltjen Road, Norre Gade, Veteran’s Drive and Subbase.
Water-service interruption is not expected in the survey areas, but technicians may need to interrupt service to certain areas to investigate trouble spots, the release said.
“Should an interruption occur, every effort will be made to return service as quickly as possible,” the release said. “WAPA’s leak-detection surveys are an essential component of its line-loss-prevention program.”
WAPA asks drivers to obey traffic directions and drive with caution as technicians perform their work in the survey areas.
