Public Constitutional Convention's Committee Meeting Planned

Feb. 26, 2008 – The Fifth Constitutional Convention's Committee on Economic Development, Labor, Energy and Technology will hold meetings at 6 p.m., on both Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 27 and 28. They will be held via videoconference at the Curriculum Center on St. Thomas and the University of the Virgin Islands, Great Hall, room 134, on St. Croix, according to a press release from the Fifth Constitutional Convention.
Testifiers on Wednesday, Feb. 27, will include: Sen. Ronald E. Russell; Richard Austin, executive director of Legal Services of the Virgin Islands Inc.; and attorney Natalie Nelson.
Testifiers on Thursday, Feb. 28, will include: Ricky Brown, president of Our Virgin Islands Labor Union; Juan Figeroa-Serville, chair of the Senate Committee on Labor; and Abdul Ali, president of Local 9484 United Steelworkers of America.
The public is invited to attend and participate in the discussions after the speakers have addressed the issues. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.
