Special Guest Coming to CVI/UVI Reunion Choir

Feb. 26, 2007 – Dr. Gloria (McLellan) Quinlan, beloved former choir director of the College of the Virgin Islands and later University of the Virgin Islands choirs from 1979 until 1986, will return to the territory after 20 years. "Ms. G," as she is affectionately known, has been dreaming of reuniting with former UVI choir members for several years.
The CVI/UVI Reunion Choir will perform at 7 p.m., on Saturday, March 1, at the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School, St. Thomas. As many as 75 UVI alumni are expected to attend the concert. An alumni reception is also planned, according to a press release from UVI.
"I am coming home," Quinlan said. "I am so excited I cannot contain myself."
Accompanying Quinlan on this visit will be her husband, UVI Rhodes Scholar Ian "Quincy" Quinlan, and 31 members of the Huston-Tillotson University Concert Choir, who will travel to the territory to perform at area schools.
Dr. Quinlan is a music professor at Huston-Tillotson, where she conducts the university concert choir.
Tickets for the concert are $20 and may be purchased at the Reichhold Center box office, Modern Music Havensight and CVI/UVI Reunion Choir members.
