Mothers Against Guns Inc. and the Jason Carroll Memorial Fund Inc. will sponsor a Walk/Run Against Gun Violence. The 2-mile race will start at 4 p.m., on Sunday, May 25, at the Coast Guard Dock on the Waterfront. The proceeds form the event will benefit the Jason Carroll Memorial Fund
There will be divisions of male and female walkers/runners; age groups of 12-and-under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-and-over. Parental or guardian consent is required for children under 18. Prizes will be given for overall winners, and for the top three winners in each age group.
Pre-register at The Caribbean Surf Co. (Havensight and Waterfront), Elizabeth Jane's (American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook). Adults are $8 and youths 17-and-under are $5. On race day, registration will start at 2:30 p.m., and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for youths 17-and-under.
