Dear Editor,
"Last year boaters tried to camp out to be the first in line to get a permit, Loomis said." Does this fact register with Ms. Loomis, Mr. Boulon or the Park Superintendent? Hurricane Hole has been a traditional "safe Harbor" for local boats maybe as long ago as the Arawaks had canoes. The idea that only a lucky 78 boaters can save their vessels strikes me as naive. Will numbers 79, 80 etc. be met by armed Park Rangers forcing citizens to probable destruction? I certainly hope the Park has contingency plans to admit any vessel in need of safe harbor regardless of how many buoys the have in place.
