Remo Idalia Gittens Dies in New Jersey

May 29, 2008 – Remo Idalia Gittens died on Monday, May 26, at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, N.J.
She is survived by her children: Dolores Carter-Brown, Douglas Carter Sr., Dorothy Carter, Dorene Carter, Denis Carter, and Rigmor Barron; and grandchildren: Earl, Dolores, Donald and Charles Waterman, Adelaine Marie, Aredious and Titus Brown Jr., Andrea Carter-Latimer, Sharon Dowell, Charlene and Erica Carter, Verena Henry, and Douglas Carter Jr., Dosycar Gem Carter, Denis, Shiniqua M., DeRhoda and Kareem Carter, Shiniqua Carter Dunston, Shomari, Kalila, Jarel Moorehead, Lorilyn Bryan, and Jermaine, Vonzola, Rodena and Thomas Barron Jr. She is also survived by son-in-law, Thomas Barron; daughter-in-law, Beryl Carter; brothers: Leopold and Otto Gittens; sister, Isabelle Gordon-Alves; aunt, Frances Ann Francis; 36 great-grandchildren and 34 nephews and nieces; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 6, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Frederiksted. It will be followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at Grace Church in Newark, N.J.
Professional Services are entrusted to Cotton Funeral Home in Newark, N.J., and James Memorial Funeral Home Inc., on St. Croix.
