USDA to Conduct Workshop on Manure Composting

May 29, 2008 – The United State Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service will conduct a Manure Composting Training workshop to be held on both St. Croix and St. Thomas. These workshops are intended for livestock and crop farmers, extension specialists and agents, NRCS staff, as well as V.I. Department of Agriculture and V.I. Waste Management Authority staffs.
The St. Croix workshop is slated for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, at the UVI Research and Extension Center, room 133. The St. Thomas workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Wednesday, June 4, at the UVI SBDC Training Room in Nisky Center. The training will be conducted by USDA-NRCS staff and is jointly sponsored by USDA-NRCS, V.I. RC&D, the V.I. Farmer's Cooperative, UVI Cooperative Extension Service and V.I. Department of Agriculture.
