The St. George Village Botanical Garden is offering an educational workshop on coconuts and other tropical fruits. It will be held from 3-5 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Pavilion at the Bodine Visitors' Center. SGVBG has educational "Grow and Learn Workshops" on the second Wednesday of each month. The cost is $5 for members and $15 for non-members. Pre-registration is preferred but not required.
Marilyn Cook, a master gardener, will talk coconuts. Many people know about coconut water and coconut meat, but how about all the other things that the coconut palm provides? She will also discuss some of the different uses of local fruits that are in season at this time, such as genip.
