Police on St. Thomas arrested 52-year-old Courtney Alvaro Callwood Jr. of Pile Strade and charged him with third-degree assault for an incident Tuesday.
According to police, Callwood was arrested at about 5:49 p.m. Wednesday. Police said Callwood approached a woman near a residence in the Gamble Gade area in Estate Savan and hit her in the face with a bottle.
The injury lacerated the left side of the woman’s face. She was transported to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Bail for Callwood was set at $25,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
