American Bar Foundation Appoints V.I. Attorney State Chair

The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation has elected Virgin Islands attorney Tom Bolt, managing attorney of the St. Thomas firm of BoltNagi PC, to serve as state chair for the USVI. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers for demonstrating outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their respective communities, and to the highest principles of the legal profession.

Bolt, who has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association for the past 22 years, said, “I am honored to have been elected to serve as United States Virgin Islands Fellows Chair and look forward to supporting the foundation’s research and bringing its programs to the territory to benefit the local bar and our island community. The foundation’s goal is to advance the understanding and improvement of law through research of unmatched quality on the most pressing issues in our legal system today.”
The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation were established in 1955. Membership is limited to one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. It is an independent, nonprofit organization and is the leading research institute for the study of empirical law.
