Kendall Freeman, 23, was shot and killed Thursday night at the Mutual Homes Apartments in Estate Grove Place, according to the V.I. Police Department.
It was the 16th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 30th in the territory.
Police responded to a call about the shooting about 8:45 p.m. Thursday. Officers found the victim sitting on a chair outside the building; he was unresponsive.
Freeman had been shot several times while in the vicinity of Building 13 on the apartment complex. Emergency medical technicians on the scene said the victim did not have any vital signs. He was removed from the scene by medical personnel.
