Administrative Leave Granted for St. John Inauguration

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp authorized commissioners and agency heads to grant administrative leave to V.I. government nonessential employees, who are residents of St. John and working on St. Thomas and all nonessential employees working on St. John, to attend the St. John inauguration ceremonies on Wednesday.

Administrative leave for government employees has already been granted for the inaugural ceremonies held on St. Thomas. And since Tuesday is a legal holiday, the granting of administrative leave is not necessary for the inaugural ceremonies on St. Croix.

The leave granted shall not apply to essential employees and employees on a regular or rotating shift. Employees on annual or sick leave immediately preceding or immediately following the time period administrative leave is granted will not receive administrative leave.
