DPNR’s Division of Building Permits to Hold Public Outreach Events

The general public is invited to join the Division of Building Permits in public outreach events as part of the celebration of Building Safety Month, according to a press release issued on Monday by the V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR)
On St. Croix, the division will host an outreach event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at the Sunny Isles Shopping Center in close proximity to the Kmart.
On St. Thomas, the division will host an outreach event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at the Home Depot.
At these events, residents, potential homeowners and developers will have the opportunity to meet and question building officials regarding the application requirements for submitting projects, International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) standards, and how to use best management practices on a site for erosion and sediment control.
The theme for 2016, “Building Codes: Driving Growth through Innovation, Resilience and Safety,” aims to raise awareness of the importance of building codes, building safety, resilient construction and fire prevention.
