Division of Environmental Enforcement Offers Online Boating Safety Course

The V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) has announced that the Division of Environmental Enforcement is offering online courses in boating education and paddle safety.

The online Boater Education Course, provided by BOATERexam.com, is required for anyone between the ages of 14 – 18 who wants to operate a Personal Water Craft (PWC). All people are encouraged to take this course, according to DPNR Commissioner Dawn Henry Esq.

Approved by The National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), it will teach students to become safer and smarter boaters. Upon successful completion of the course, the user can print a certificate of completion, and the card will arrive in the mail within three to four weeks.

The online Paddle Sport Safety Course is a free resource for paddlers in the Virgin Islands. This paddle course is the first of its kind sanctioned by The National Association of Safe Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) to teach paddle safety to paddlers of all ages and experience levels. Upon successful completion of the course, the user can print a certificate of completion.
