The Legislature has made Toya Malone its new executive director. Malone had been acting director while Iver Stridiron was out on medical leave.

“No stranger to the institution, Mr. Malone has served in various capacities at the Legislature since 1997, including former director of Public Affairs, a writer and community outreach specialist for former Senator Lorraine Berry, and former chief of staff for former Senator Shawn-Michael Malone,” Senate President Myron Jackson said in a statement to the Source.

“He also brings a wealth of supervisory experience in wider government and the private sector. We look forward to working with him in this new capacity and wish him well in the task of running the day-to-day operations of the institution,” Jackson continued.
