Congresswoman Plaskett to Host Seminars on Military Service Academies

Virgin Islands Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett will hold a pair of seminars in November for students interested in the U.S. service academies and their families.

The seminars will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, on St. Thomas at the UVI ACC first floor conference room, and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov 10, on St. Croix in the UVI Great Hall.

According to a news release from Plaskett’s office, the seminars will provide information on the application and nomination process to students interested in attending a military service academy: the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

The seminars are open to all high school students. Admissions experts, graduates, and local service members will be present to answer questions and assist students with the admissions process.
